Frequently asked questions

What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government-funded program that provides support and funding to Australians with a permanent and significant disability. It helps individuals access services such as personal care, therapy, assistive technology, and accommodation options like SIL (Supported Independent Living) and SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation).

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for the NDIS, you must:
✔ Be under 65 years old when applying
✔ Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa
✔ Have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to perform daily activities
✔ Require support to reduce the impact of your disability on daily life

If you're unsure about your eligibility, AAC can assist you in checking your eligibility and applying for NDIS funding.

How do I switch providers?

Yes! NDIS participants have the right to choose and switch providers if their current provider does not meet their needs or if they find another provider that better aligns with their goals. The process depends on how your NDIS plan is managed:

  • Self-Managed: You can switch at any time by notifying your current provider and arranging services with a new provider.

  • Plan-Managed: Inform your plan manager, who will help transition your funding to the new provider.

  • NDIA-Managed: Request a provider change through the NDIS portal or contact the NDIA for assistance.

If you’re looking to switch to Accessible Angel Care, our team can guide you through the transition smoothly, ensuring continuity of care.
